Be joyful in hope, patient in
affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12
Do not be anxious about anything, but
in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. Philippians
4:6
And pray in the Spirit on all
occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert
and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
13 Is anyone among you in trouble?
Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone
among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and
anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in
faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have
sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and
pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person
is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16
13 And I will do whatever you ask in
my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for
anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:13-14
God and His
Word made it simple for us to come to Him with our requests. Employ the
following approach and let the Holy Spirit guide you along the way…
- Always give thanks
- Ask for guidance and healing
- Confess all sins and repent
- Offer up praise
- Pray God’s Word back to Him
- Ask in the name of Jesus
- Believe that He hears
- Be ready to respond accordingly
