Get over it! Yes, it is easier said than done. However, we
have to do it in order to make room for what comes next.
We all have suffered loss, heartbreak and pain in some form or
another; and it affects each of us differently. Some of us use or pain to propel
us forward in our purpose, realizing the truth of what God’s Word says about
trials and tribulations (Romans 8:28). We make it look easy. While some of us
hold onto our hurts and become martyrs for the cause. We embody the hurt and
use it as an excuse for our failures. We place blame, making us powerless in
our own life stories. We give in to our circumstances.
We get hurt, are betrayed, lose our loved ones, but none of
us owns a patent on pain; Jesus does and he paid the price for it on Calvary! His
sacrifice was for all our sins, hurts and disappointments. His love for us
embodies all the comfort, redemption and hope that we need to carry on in the
face of anything. Yes, anything! (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) But for us, it has to be beyond
the religion of knowing; it has to be about the relationship of trusting and
believing.
Pain
is inevitable and inconvenient, but comfort is eternal and assured. Embrace the
love of God, revel in the comfort of His sacrifice and experience a peace that
only God can give. No it is not easy, no relationship worth having ever is. But
the reward is unlike anything we can imagine or conceive on our own. Prayer: Father God, please instill in each of us a renewed sense of purpose in regards to those that have wronged us. Please help us to forgive each other just as you have forgiven each of us. Comfort us and open our hearts to be healed of all the wrongs inflicted upon us so that we can move forward with purpose, with love, and an unwavering faith in you and your word. Thank you for the grace and mercy that you continue to show us each and every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
